Currently, the bolus split feature in the IAPS is limited to a predefined option for high-fat meals, with a fixed split percentage set in the settings. While this is helpful, some users prefer to customize the bolus split based on their personal knowledge of the meal they are about to consume and the specific split ratio required for it.

Proposed Solution
Introduce an additional input field that allows users to manually define the bolus split percentage for their current dose. This feature will empower users to:

  • Flexibly adjust bolus splits according to their specific meal composition.
  • Ensure accurate insulin dosing based on their individual needs and preferences.

Benefits

  • Improves user experience by providing greater control over bolus customization.
  • Reduces potential errors caused by a one-size-fits-all approach to meal types.
  • Supports advanced users who have a clear understanding of their insulin requirements.

Implementation Suggestion

  • Add a new input field within the bolus settings interface for users to enter the desired percentage split.

This feature will particularly benefit users who frequently consume meals with varying compositions and want more control over their insulin management.
