managing specific updates

Hey,
is it possible to integrate a feature for managing specific devices and their driver updates?
For example I have a crappy onboard soundcard and it annoyed me since it did not work for my surround sound setup. I now use a external soundcard and prevented any new updates by using patchfluent and never checking updates for it.

But by doing this I have to manually check for security updates.
This utility has a setting for only installing security updates and feature upates after 2 years.
Now I wonder how it handles normal hardware driver updates.
This level of controll over the updates would be very nice to have in my opinion
