Just spotted this on Twitter, it looks like a good opportunity to talk to potential employers. http://techspark.co/spark-skills-festival/

Hi Katja, looks interesting but looks like you have to be a recent graduate?

Ah yes, I had overlooked that. At first sight it looked a bit like that other event that was just generally aimed at people looking for a job, or new jobs, or employer. I'm seeing now when you register they actually ask what uni you went to. :( But I still think it would be good for both parties if you could go there as a self-studier too. Do you think it would be worth asking the organisers?

I think it will be worth asking @katjad . They can not ignore the fact that there are plenty of people doing MOOCs and self-taught.

Making this a job thread now :) This is not frontend development, and in Bath, but might still be interesting to someone? It is Junior/graduate, but the Junior has nothing do with age I'd say

Will contact Techspark just to hear what they think, just not anymore today ;)

Regarding the initial post about Skillsfestival, have had this reply from Techspark:

"Yes that’s absolutely fine - please feel free to share this.

It’s for people with STEM skills - coding/ design and development skills at all levels..and self taught or return to work are very welcome."

The date has changed:
When? 1 December 2016, 11:00 – 16:00
Where? Watershed, Bristol Harbourside

Sorry - not next Tuesday. I read the month as November for some reason ;)
I've booked a place for the event anyway.
