GTA 3 freezes #136
Comments
You'll need to narrow it down more than that, as it stands it's hard to believe it'd be caused by SP. |
I was playing in D3D8, and now I want to try D3D9, I renamed the Ultimate ASI Loader dll dinput8 to d3d8 and created the global.ini file with the line UseD3D8to9=1 in the scripts folder, so now I don't know if the D3D8 conversion occurred or did not occur for D3D9, is there any way to know this? I suspect the freezes are being caused by D3D8, so I want to test in D3D9. By the way, I don't use widescreen correction, it caused me problems in some cut scenes, problems like: softlock. Thanks! |
RTSS. |
D3D9 did nothing. So I disabled VSync and frame limiter and everything is fine. Previously, I was getting small stutters when turning some corners. I suppose those two above were the ones causing the freezing + black screen. I wasn't experiencing slowdowns, but I notice that the game is now running better overall. |
Hello!
It's basically this: Freezes for a few seconds and then displays a black screen, then returns to normal
No error message is displayed, the error also occurs randomly, at any time, sometimes it occurs once or twice, and sometimes it does not occur. And I have noticed this problem only in GTA 3; VC and SA work well.
If it helps, it seems that in all the randomness of the error there is a certain pattern, I mean, the error occurs when I shoot or when I crash the vehicle into some object. I don't know if this is caused by SP, also I don't have many mods installed and I use version 1.0.
Anyway, I just want to inform you about this. =) Maybe someone is going through this, or has gone through it at some point.
Cheers!
