gpuRIR install error #33
Comments
Coming from #30. Hi Yang. I guess the issue is related with the warning
I don't know if this is something that has changed in the last versions of CMake but I don't have time to investigate it and find a proper solution now. However, we could try to find a workaround for your case, what GPU and what version of CUDA are you using? |
Hi David. |
Ok, I've tried to make a workaround in a new branch. Could you try to install the library using
and let me know if it works? |
Still not working.I suspect a Cmake version error -- Found PythonInterp: C:/Users/admin/.conda/envs/DeepLearning36/python.exe (found version "3.6.13")
|
Sorry, I had a quite stupid bug when tried to specify the CUDA architectures to compile to, I think it's fixed now. Could you try again to install it with |
It also occurs error.Could you show me what PC Compilation environment version are you using. Such as Cmake and VS studio and so on. |
I usually use gpuRIR in Linux systems, I think the last time I installed it I was using GCC 8.5 and CMake 3.22.4. I've only installed gpuRIR in Windows once when I first released it, and it was just to check it worked, but I haven't done it again since then, so maybe there are some new incompatibilities or something like that. Could you send me the error logs you're getting with the newest version of the |

Well, at least this time it has reached the compilation stage... till now it was crashing while trying to get the compilation orders. The compilation errors you're getting don't come from the code of gpuRIR but from some other libraries that MSVC is including. I've tried to find some information about those errors and I've found these threads:
It seems like there are some incompatibilities between some versions of MSVC, CUDA, and C++. Unfortunately, right now I don't have access to any Windows computer with CUDA to reproduce the error and try to fix it. I guess it would be interesting trying to compile gpuRIR using C++11 instead of C++14, but I don't know how to do it using CMake. Let me know if you find how to fix this. |
Hi @DavidDiazGuerra, I have the same issue as @yang-china. First, I have installed the library using I have then installed the library using the I am also using a Windows machine, so it is probable that the error is due to OS. I can also provide error logs if possible but I have no errors during installation and the runtime error message is just one line. |
Hi Avio. I'll try to get access to a Windows PC with an NVidia GPU during the following days and try to install GPU and see if I get the same problems. I don't know what can be failing. |
I've just installed the library on a Windows 10 PC and I've been able to run the example script without any problems. The DLLs should be created when you install the library, I don't know why they weren't generated in your case, are you sure you didn't get any errors or warnings during the installation? What CUDA version and what GPU are you using? |
The OS is Windows 11.
The GPU I am using currently is "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti". I am positive that there are no issues while installing the library, I uninstalled and reinstalled few times. Only issue is the DLL error. |
I think I have partially understood the issue. I am currently using a laptop and this device has two GPUs, one simple embedded one (which does not support CUDA) and another good one ( which is the NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti for me ) . When using In addition, directly using |
That's indeed weird... are you using any environment management system? Like conda or something like that? How did you force pip to use the NVidia GPU during the installation? |
CMake is supposed to compile the DLL for several CUDA architectures independently of what GPU is installed in your computer. The master branch uses a set of architectures that CMake considers "common" while the branch About torch, I have no idea why importing it helps python to find the DLL of an independent module as gpuRIR. |
@yang-china hi,is the problem solved? |
Amazing, but it does work. |
Hey ,how to force the usage of real GPU? |
@
It really helps! |
In windows, I use this install gpurir without any error report
But when I import python -c "import gpuRIR"

Thanks a lot for sharing this fix. It might be that I'm missing some lines in |
