Failed with Gnome 3.8 #4
Comments
Yes, you're right. The last commit is missing a file. |
Thanks a lot :-) 👍 |
Do you know specifically what the problem is w/ gnome 3.8? Still crashing shell when I enable it. If you know what the problem is but don't have the time, I'd be willing to fix it. |
Hi. Its a bit strange. It works on Gnome 3.8, but crashes on some Ubuntu installations. I got it working on Arch, then cleanly installed Ubuntu 13.04 and it worked! On my provious clean Ubuntu 13.04 installation it keeped crasing the shell. I have absolutely no idea. -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht-----

I'm running Arch and it's been crashing mine, so it's not the OS (32 bit if that makes a difference). Maybe I have a package installed that's conflicting? Did the logs say anything when it crashed? |
For me (Fedora 19 → Gnome 3.8.2) it is working fine. Maybe you can add 3.8 to metadata again? thx |
Hi, I installed your extension from the gnome extension website, and it's not working... I'm running Sabayon with Gnome 3.8.4 |
Actually, someone posted the solution in the comments : |
lerpe is right on the money. |
Current gnome-shell version is 3.22.3 and the hack of editing the metadata does not work anymore. Is this extension dead or can I make it work? |
Hi Guys,
you added support for Gnome 3.8, but this version of the extensions crashes my GnomeShell. I'm using ArchLinux with GnomeShell 3.8.1 on kernel 3.8.11-1-ARCH. Here is part of my systemlog (journalctl), directly after reboot I opened gnome-tweak-tool and activated battery-remaining-time. This crashes the GnomeShell and brings me back to log in and deactivates every extension. Link: http://pastebin.com/an0e1JN3
Do you need any other information?
Greetings,
Felix
