wordpress on subdomain with nginx

Hello to all,

I hope to find some help with the aforementioned topik. In the past I used the easyengine forum.

I’m trying to run 2 sites with different Wordpress-Blogs on my own server in a docker environment with Nginx as webserver.

The first Wordpress-Site is reachable over my maindomain https://www.maindomain.com with the following conf-file:

	server_name maindomain.com;
	return 301 $scheme://www.maindomain.com$request_uri;

    server_name www.maindomain.com;

    root /var/www/html/WP1;
    index index.php;

    access_log off;

    include common/wp-common-php7.conf;
    include common/wp-locations-php7.conf;

The second Wordpress-Site shoud be reachable over a subdomain called http://subdomain.maindomain.com, but I do not know, how set the right settings in the conf-file. I tried the following, but I allways got the response "File not found." on the webbrowser.

I searched a lot for some help or to find a solution, but I could only find advices how to run WP in multisite mode. But i guess this is not what I was looking for, because I want to let run two completely different and independet Wordpress-Blogs.

I’m a very newbie in stuff like this. Till now I tried to fix the problem on my own and I learnd a lot about nginx-webserver, but now I couldn't find a solution.

So I would be very grateful about every kind of help an advices. I can give you more detailed infomation about my system and settings, if this should be useful.
