Just checked and the issue seems to be the Android version.

The previous extractor is banned by YouTube and resulting in 403 error, so start from 4.1.0, we use yt-dlp as the extractor, which requires Android 7 according to yausername/youtubedl-android#304 (comment)

This means version 4.0.2 will be the last version compatible with your device, unless YouTube removes their encryption in the future. Thanks for your support of PipePipe!

My first comment in this discussion. Yet its the first time to play AV1 HW accelerated videos in PipePipe (before Newpipe don't) just now, except HDR10 video.

AV1 works flawlessly on Unisoc T615 (ums9230). Only at 720p 60 FPS. Above 720p may experience some stuttery playback and plays in SW mode. At best I set the default resolution to 720p60. *In PipePipe, some instances will play AV1 video on higher end video content uploaded in 4K.

*But some video content uploaded in 1080p, it will play 720p60 AVC video instead. Maybe.

On HDR10 video playback however, force set to MPEG-4 720p60 HDR automatically falls back to MPEG-4 144p HDR. Maybe the decoder itself does not have a proper support for HDR, nor its an error. Nevertheless, without HDR indicator it will play AV1 videos.

Seems that the Unisoc platforms (introduced in Q3 2021 with Android 12) are capable to run 720p60 AV1 videos on YT app on select SoC models. Thanks man, I already tried WebM all the time, but a bit of a miss in this version, and the 4.1.1.

Some videos uploaded in 1080p (only 60 FPS), the MPEG-4 720p60 id 298 is shown when WebM is enabled. instead of WebM 720p60 id 302 which is missing but still exist.

Restart the app or open any other video should fix the problem.
As of today, the only situation that trigger 403 is switching network after fetching the stream detail. So simply switch back, or restart to re-fetch, or play another one.
