My tablet contains the Intel® Atom© Z3735F Bay Trail-T processor. I cannot get any sound with it. Youtube does not load videos both the browsers (chrome, firefox, via browser) and the official youtube app.

These people have got it working for baytrail tablets. Please see: https://github.com/burzumishi/linux-baytrail-flexx10

On GNU/Linux, this works by making use of ALSA UCM with preset modules: https://github.com/plbossart/UCM/tree/master/bytcr-rt5640
However, this is mosly for PulseAudio, whereas Android uses AudioFlinger. So it's not clear whether that would help.

Another possibility would be to look at kernel sources of tablets that have such hardware and come with Android preinstalled.
