Use Better Thermostat just for external temperature sensor?

Hi all,
I am using multiple Bluetooth thermostats via MQTT. The thermostats don't report the current room temperature which is why I am interested in using BT so that I can combine the thermostat with an external temperature sensor.
I tried setting up BT but everytime I change the temperature of the BT, the temperature of the original MQTT thermostat integration does not change. When I change the original MQTT integration tempearture however, BT sometimes sets the thermostat to OFF.

Is anyone using BT similar to how I am using it or do you have any ideas on how I could make it work?

I have the same problem. My EQ3 with bt-mqtt-gateway working quite well. But not with better thermostat. I'm not able to set a target temperature. Is there in the meanwhile a solution?
