Do we really have a self-learning AI in BT?

Hi!

I searched around the discussions and issues and haven't found any hint.

Is there really an AI in BT which learns over time? If so, where can I find that part in the code and where is the data stored? (I am no coder but an interested user).

How long does it take until the AI sets the algorithm to the perfect behaviour for the room and the TRV?

Hi,

i don't know if we could call this AI in this stage, but yes, it's learning currently from each heating phase and adapts that learnings to the next heating phase. Our plan for next winter is, to add a real AI model that learns, but also from the parameters of the heating phase.

So does that mean BT is learning over time (days, weeks) because it always uses the last heating cycle and this is getting more exact over the time? No data is stored anywhere for calculation but every heating cycle depends on the one before?

Yes, it gets more precise over time. Usually after 1 or 2 days it's already mostly calibrated and then it's just getting more fine over time.

But what i realized, that it even adapts very quickly already to the outside temperature changes. When it got colder for some days (-10) the values lowered everywhere and BT then used that to open the values more. And now with around +10 the values are again a little higher and the valves open a little less.

As said it's just a very easy algorithm for now, because i needed something like this in our home since we have heaters in different sizes and some older ones that don't have too much power. So a fixed calibration didn't work to good for my setup with my TRVs (Hama).

Hi, sorry for resurrecting this after so long but has the AI been implemented? I'm curious about it too, would be great to get some documentation explaining how it works.

I understand that BT learns over time to improve itself. Say I want a fresh start, how can I reset it? Removing and adding new BT entity is enough? Can I use the same name?
