You need to connect usin a USB-RS485 device. Here are the ports depending on the JKBMS model |

Thanks,
I'm fairly certain that I have the serial-battery driver installed correctly, because I also tested with a Daly BMS and it worked fine. Does anyone happen to have the "lsusb" output of a working USB-485 adapter that's working with a JK-BMS. Thanks |

I finally started making some progress, but it looks like maybe the BMS is returning some information that isn't expected by the driver...
Any thoughts on where to go from here? |

That connector should be fine. You will see RT232 on the software even though there is a RS485 step in there.
The JKBMS RS485 pinout should be GND, TX, RX, Vbat. Be careful of the Vbat as that can be 50+V or more. If you get the RS485 cable from JKBMS it fix that for you, but if you use your own converter raw you might need to get a 5V source on the BMS (just check on of the other pins)
There are 2 tipes of convertion cables. Isolated cables like the Victron one has a physical isolation to block any current flowing from the one side to the other side. So the BMS voltages can never reach the GX controller in this case, and this is a good safety measure. Isolated cables need power on both s…
