Occasionally it can happen on Linux that Titanfall2 will no longer launch when pressing play on Steam. There's a few seconds where Steam thinks the game is launching and then the button goes back to "Play" again.

The fix for this is known but not yet documented.

Okay so for any one else having problems, what seemed to work was the following.

  1. Wipe compactdata
  2. Run with Proton 7.0
  3. Wait for EA app to finish reinstalling (see compactdata)
  4. Close game
  5. Restart with GE
