When I try to throttle with this script, I get an error about ipfw being missing on my mac.

Also getting the same issue on v10.13.6

ipfw is deprecated in newer version of macOS and replaced by pf. I couldn't get pf to work, but you can just use Apple's Network Link Conditioner. https://nshipster.com/network-link-conditioner/
