using a dimmer like a robotdyn triac allows a fine control of the load. However, I'm no expert but from what I understand, triac emits the most heat when they are set to 100% (when all current flows).
It would be great to allow the system to switch a relay on when the dimmer is set to 100%, bypassing the dimmer (shortcutting it), to avoid heat of the dimmer during extensive working period.

Yes, this architecture makes sense. It could be implemented as a new engine.
I think the most sensible thing to implement is to correctly manage the hysteresis when we are close to 100% of diversion to avoid flickering, but it should not be too complex to implement as it has already been implemented in ON/OFF engine.
