Netlify only offers 100GB of bandwidth, and then you have to start paying, either:

  • $20/mo for the "Pro" plan, or
  • $55/100GB in overage charges

I've run into this happen a couple of times when a post went viral, and suddenly a successful post starts costing me money. 😕

A recent discussion of Netlify's pricing on Hacker News pointed me at Bunny CDN, which has a pricing model that's easier for me to understand:

I think the main difference to me is

Netlify $550/TB [0]
BunnyCDN $10/TB [1]

You preload your account:

In order to keep your service online, you are required to keep a positive account credit balance. Our system will automatically send multiple warning emails if your account balance drops beyond a certain point. If you fail to recharge your account, the system will automatically suspend your account"

I'm back on the free plan and skirting well below it, but if my bandwidth starts creeping up again, this is something to look at.
