Hey anosidium, first of all, thanks for the app and for making it free.

Regarding feedback, hope you don't mind if I open only one issue for all of them.

  1. Option to choose the text color — the current one is flashy to me and wears my eyes very fast
  2. Option to wrap the title lines — some titles extend beyond the breakpoint of the article bar if it's not set really wide
  3. Option to have articles favicon — just to make them easier to identify

Also, any plans to release it for iOS too?

Thank you for your feedback.

  1. What do you mean by flashy? What colour would be easy on your eyes?
  2. Which story title are you talking about? Stories list or story detail? The story detail title does not truncate and it is multi-line. Perhaps you are running an older version of HacKit? If it is the stories list, you can view the full story title by hovering the cursor on the title and a tooltip will display the full title.
  3. I thought about implementing favicon. I think favicon would work in story detail than stories list as there are no suitable spaces to place it. I would have to experiment to see if it works well. Where would you suggest?

Sorry, I have no plans to port it to iOS nor iPadOS nor any other platforms.

  1. Maybe that was not the best word to use: I meant bright. I'm used to reading text with lower brightness and prefer lower contrast in general, so I normally go for something like #d3d3d3. If a whole color selection window is too much to implement, maybe having 2-3 options like 100% white, 80% white, and 70% white would be already enough for most
  2. Yup, I'm talking about the stories list. I know you can see the tooltip on hover, but it's a bit frustrating when you have multiple titles being truncated and have to hover all of them
  3. Perhaps they can be implemented in the stories list with wrapped titles 👀

  1. Have you tried experimenting with accessibility in system preferences/settings?
  2. Ahh, I see. I'll have a play around to see what I could do.
  3. There are no suitable spaces and it would look bloated. I'll have to think about it carefully. I don't want to reduce the user experience nor do I want a scroll lag.

I've tried to look into accessibility, but I can only turn up the contrast and not down.

To avoid bloating, perhaps having the favicons only occupy the title and link lines? Like this:

Thank you for the mockup! It really helps to visually see how it would looks.

I'm also in favor of multi-line text in article list, and lower contrast text option and favicon support sound great too. I also made a quick mockup displaying multi-line article list title a while back but never posted it, so I added my alternative take on favicon placement.

Thank you for the screenshot. I like the favicon placement. It does not look too obtrusive.

Could I please ask for examples of low contrast? How do you do it in other apps?
