I guess waiting does not bear much fruit here. So I did finish main part of the my code. I hope my app is a good compliment to LaserGRBL. I hope some day to see similar functionality integrated with it. For now - you may conveniently generate grid to make calibration of you laser so much easier. Main function is working. I will polish it when have time. Please feel free to participate and contribute. |

Running "test card" is essential to calibrate laser power and feed rates. My understanding that many commercial software had test grid generation capability built in. I'm on the hobby budget, meaning currently no budget for commercial software. With LaserGRBL I see no obvious way to effectively calibrate laser power.
I came to the point where I run grayscale grid as photo and then manually edited speed and power commands. Not very elective way to do that, especially if needed grid for very specific narrow ranges.
Then I've started coding my own app: in browser pure JS calibration grid generator. While working on it I wonder how most users of LaserGRBL resolve their need to calibrate?
Is there an easy way? I do not see many references to it.
I think addition of such tool is essential for such fantastic piece of software as LaserGRBL.
For now I'm still practicing very cumbersome way to calibrate by:
-creating custom material
-loading my reference grayscale image
-running burn and tweaking override on the fly
-guessing better settings and creating another material and trying it again
-repeat.......
Any suggestions about best way to calibrate laser with LaserGRBL?
