Enhancement Proposal

For the connection between metrics and traces, Prometheus would need to have exemplar storage enabled: https://prometheus.io/docs/prometheus/latest/feature_flags/#exemplars-storage with a reasonable default size of the exemplars storage. Potentially it could also be exposed to the user via a configuration variable.
