Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I find myself doing exobiology to earn money. Whenever I come across a planet with biological signals, I scan it with the DSS. The Cannon plugin does then update to provide the species, but not the genus. To find out if the planet is worth going down to, I then have to go through the wiki pages for every species and check against the properties of the body that I just scanned (Type of body, atmosphere composition, temperature, vulcanism, star type, etc), and then go to a different website to find out the value for each of those species. It is quite time consuming and boring.
Describe the solution you'd like
Instead of manually having to check the body properties against the species list, I would like the EDMC plugin to provide a list of possible genus and a range of values. Cannon already knows about the properties of the bodies and the values of the bio scans, so applying a filter should be fairly straight forward.
For example if I find a bacterium with the DSS on a carbon dioxide atmosphere planet, it shouldn't just say "Bacterium", but rather correctly figure out it will 100% be "Bacterium aurasus" with a value of 1M and display that information - and then I can just move on and not waste my time with it. If multiple types are possible, it should list all the possible genus with a range of values, for example "Concha [labiata (2.4M)/renibus (4.6M)]" (2.4M - 4.6M).
If a prediction was wrong somehow, you could collect that statistic and use it to update your filters (and perhaps the wiki) for an update.

You will find the relevant filters to apply on the elite dangerous wiki. For example
https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Bacterium
with a list of all the different species on the bottom. most of them contain some sort of table with conditions for each genus and even type.
