Ariel Jatib has stepped down from the New York Kubernetes Meetup. Please remove Ariel as an organizer from the chapter on the CNCF community platform, at: https://community.cncf.io/new-york-kubernetes-meetup/. The other existing organizers—Scott Rigby, Karen Chu, and Tony Marfil—are still all affiliated with different companies.
❤️ It's worth taking a moment here to acknowledge that Ariel pioneered several of the main Kubernetes / CNCF meetups, in New York City and elsewhere. He co-founded the New York Kubernetes meetup group in 2015—the year Kubernetes was publicly released, and just before CNCF was formed. Since then, as the Cloud Native landscape has grown around the Kubernetes project exponentially, the meetup group has also become about not only Kubernetes but all things Cloud Native. With 55 past events, and at 3,400+ members, the New York Kubernetes Meetup community has been the go-to entry point for NYC and the New York Metro Area residents and visitors to engage with and become part of the wider international Kubernetes and Cloud Native community. The other organizers of this community group and I want to thank Ariel for his vision, dedication, warm welcome to everyone in the community, and responsible caretaking that includes passing on the torch. Ariel, you will always be an important part of the history of this community and we look forward to seeing you at future events!
