Here's my ideas for how I'd like interactions to work (and am actively working on). Subject to change.
Ideal Scenario
User pops in and has either vive or daydream controller (could possibly fallback to gaze detection)
They see the relatively simple scene, and should be attracted to the paper on the table (highlighted somehow?)
User touches/points to a recipe and the ingredients appear on the table in a bowl.
User opens the oven.
User grabs/point+clicks on the ingredients and places them into the stove.
Timer starts and when complete dings.
User can then open the stove and get the finished food out of the oven.
User Instructions
Open the oven.
Choose a recipe.
Place the ingredients in the oven.
Close the oven.
Wait for the timer to complete.
Open the oven and take out the food.
Eat!
Point for discussion: Instructions on a paper on the table may not be obvious enough. Alternatives? Part of me thinks if you need instructions you're doing something wrong.
Opening/closing the stove
Anticipating that there may be a point where the user is confused as to what to do if they have picked up the ingredients but have not opened the stove. Alternatives?
It may be easier to just click on the stove with the ingredients and either have the timer start, or have a button on the stove to "Cook". Love to hear thoughts on this.
