Aligned subtitles, yet subs2cia spitting out misaligned chopped audio #35

So I've generally not had any problems such as this, and when I have it has come down to the formatting of the SRT file. In this case the SRT is UTF-8 and I see no problems within the file. I've also tried multiple srt files from different sources. When I play the .avi using MPV player, the subtitles are perfectly aligned. And yet when I condense the audio using subs2cia everything is completely out of whack and I can't identify why.

Here's what I've tried / checked:

  • I've tried using other subtitle files (including different languages) to rule out some kind of issue with the specific subtitle file I was using before, but have had no luck.
  • There's only one audio stream in the video (it's AVI) so subs2cia can't be trying to align the subtitles to something else
  • I've checked the SRT files for odd characters but haven't found anything

Here's a sample of the SRT:
`1
00:02:38,781 --> 00:02:40,148
Don't watch.

2
00:02:59,736 --> 00:03:01,770
Timothy Singh?

3
00:03:01,838 --> 00:03:04,572
Yes.
I'm afraid we have to speak with you.

4
00:03:04,641 --> 00:03:05,741
Come.

5
00:03:20,923 --> 00:03:22,290
Eric Dale?

6
00:03:23,025 --> 00:03:24,126
Excuse me?
