Clicking on calendar event in status bar (wingpanel) brings up Tasks app #746
Comments
Interesting. Can you provide an example of one of these events as an ICS file? |
Sure...How do I export calendar events as .ics in Elementary OS? Or do you want an .ics from Proton Calendar and/or Google Calendar? |
It should be from the data stored on elementary OS. I've done this using Evolution, where you can right click on an event and select "save as iCalendar." Note that for this to use the same data as elementary Calendar, you need to install Evolution from apt, not flatpak. |
No, actually I can't. It's not a "supported file type."
I'm trying to attach them as .txt files, so you can rename them on your end All events exhibit the same behavior, FYI. |
That works great, thanks. Sorry, I forgot that Github doesn't recognize ICS, but glad you got that sorted. The events you exported work fine for me, so I don't think it's an issue with the events themselves. It must be something with the calendar that contains them or your account setup. Do you see any weird behavior in other calendar apps, like Evolution or GNOME Calendar? If so that could be a hint. Alternately, could you export the whole calendar from Evolution? Don't upload it, since I don't want you to upload personal info and that's a lot for you to check. But could you tell me if the top says |
Evolution seemed to handle everything fine. It just told me that it was "read only," which it should be. Gnome Calendar seems to work great, too. Event details show up just fine in both calendars. No details are available in the eOS calendar app (I can't click on or hover over the events for details like in Gnome Calendar or Evolution). I uninstalled Evolution, but can still reinstall to check the .ics file if you'd like. |
What Happened?
I have integrated my google calendar with the ElementaryOS desktop calendar app. When I click on a calendar event in the "date and time" section of the status bar, it brings up the Tasks app. Further calendar event details are unavailable.
