Proprietary Databases

Many News companies create proprietary databases. Based on their news sources, and they create graphs or a
other analytical tools for sense-making of the news.

See:

• VC investment trends in various sectors
• home prices are on the rise in these metros
• etc

The knowledge base would be able to categories and visualize similar trends.

It would struggle with the semantics layer and thus struggle with double counting (via varied news outlets), inconsistent names, or counting things not-useful.
