  • Create one or more additional back-end clusters for Globus Search service.
  • Enable a new index to be assigned to an alternate back-end cluster.

The above will allow isolation of indices that consume an unusual amount of cluster resources. We will use this for new ESGF-1.5 indices.

As of October 3, the Globus Search service has an additional back-end cluster that can be resourced to support ESGF2-1.5 index requirements. The Globus Search team will create indexes on that cluster when ESGF requests them.

As of October 7, we have two new Globus Search indexes on the new cluster:

  • "ESGF2-ANL" ID: c123975a-246d-421f-8819-4659edf91e44
  • "ESGF2-ORNL" ID: ad22fd89-f203-409e-a036-d1d124e7352d

An ESGF2-LLNL index will be created when needed.

Solr to Globus Search transition activities need to switch to these two new indexes.
