[Issue Explanation]
When using split tunneling on a VPN, I constantly have "Fetching data from Universalis..." in the top right corner, and "Universalis API seems down" in the bottom left.
[Steps to reproduce issue]
Use a VPN that can split tunnel
Add FF14 & XIV Launcher .exe files to the split tunneling exclude list
Install the Market Board plugin
Use the plugin to check the prices on an item
Issue is reproduced
[Method to circumvent issue]
The issue is resolved when not using split tunneling, by any of the following:
Completely disable the VPN
Turn off split tunneling
Remove all FF14 and XIV Launcher .exe files from the split tunneling exclude list
I use split tunneling to reduce ping to the FF14 servers and to reduce the frequency of disconnections. Specifically, I use mullvad's VPN. I have set up split tunneling to exclude all FF14 and XIV Launcher .exe files, but the issue persists.
[Other plugins that have encountered this issue]
Just for reference, a different user of a different plugin seems to have the same bug with split tunneling and universalis: Kouzukii/ffxiv-priceinsight#32
Also, it seems the plugin in question has found a fix for the issue:
I've added an option in the next update to force the universalis client to use Ipv4 instead of Ipv6, let me know if enabling this option resolves your issue.
Yes! It works again! Thank you, Kouzukii!
I am not sure what the author means by "force the universalis client to use Ipv4 instead of Ipv6". Is that an option that I can change as a user?
Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful.
