Would you please explain what does those two ornaments mean?

Thanks for your brilliant theme, it's very beautiful and well-designed. However, as a Chinese, I'm not familiar with western culture, so I have been confused by those two pretty red ornaments on the head of home page and post page.

I didn't create the theme, but happy to try to answer your question. I have taken this theme and modified it and added many other features since I also love the design.
The ornaments are just that. Just a style, nothing more than that. Change them however you like.

@ansiblejunky Thank you, I noticed the author's blog (which used a modified version of this theme) put a Latin word "et" in the title which resembles those two ornaments, so I was wondering if they are a sort of Latin words or something.
