LoST 2.0

LoST 2.0 is a protocol for geographic service discovery on the internet. The protocol allows a client to discover network services pertaining to the clients area of interest specified in the form of a geographic object. A LoST 2.0 service consists of the following entities:

  • LoST seeker: An application using the LoST 2.0 service to discover services
  • LoST resolver: A local service that resolves LoST 2.0 requests on behalf of seekers
  • LoST server: A server entity that maps geographic objects to services
  • LoST publisher: A publisher of network service information into a LoST 2.0 service
