How to avoid task instances showing up from previous day

I created a bunch of Daily tasks.
If any day I do not close the day, or did not open the application for a few days,
if I opened the application the next day,
it shows the set of tasks twice.
How could this be avoided?
Which ones are today's, out of the duplicated tasks?

Could you maybe post a screenshot, so we can better understand what exactly is going on? We're talking about repeating tasks, right?

In previous versions of SP these old instances have just been marked as done. But people complained about that. Now there not automatically removed any more, but there should be a date shown for which day the task was intended.

Hi,
I have the same problem. Every time I don't open the app for a few days, all the repeating /scheduled tasks just pile up for every day, so that instead of five scheduled tasks there is twenty or more... It's pretty messy.
