Setup for asuswrt-merlin

Settings

  1. LAN
    • LAN IP
      • Host Name => <Router Name>
      • IP Address => 192.168.1.1
    • DHCP Server
      • IP Pool Starting Address => 192.168.1.21
      • Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS => No
      • Enable Manual Assignment => Yes
      • Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list => <Add client and static IP>
    • DNS Director
      • Enable DNS Director
      • Client List => <Add client and redirection>
  2. AiMesh
    • System Settings
      • Ethernet Backhual Mode => On
  3. Guest Network
    1. 2.4 GHz / 2 GHz => <Add guest network>
  4. Administration
    • System
      • Enable JFFS custom scripts and configs => Yes
      • Time Zone => <Set time zone>
      • Auto Logout => 10
      • Enable SSH => LAN Only
  5. WAN
    • Internet Connection
      • DNS Server => Assign:
        • DNS Server1 => 1.1.1.1
        • DNS Server3 => 8.8.8.8
      • DNS Privacy Protocol => DNS-over-TLS (DOT)
      • Preset servers => Add:
        • Cloudflare 1 (1.1.1.1 cloudfare-dns.com)
        • Google 1 (8.8.8.8 dns.google)
  6. USB Application
    • Servers Center
      • Network Place (Samba) Share / Cloud Disk)
        • Enable Share => On
        • Simpler share naming (without the disk name) => Yes

Addition Setup

  • Create swap file
  • Install Entware

Duck DNS

  • Create /jffs/scripts/ddns-start using sample Duck DNS Sample script
  • Set DDNS to custom (WAN -> DDNS -> DDNS Service)
  • Enable the DDNS Client => Yes
  • Server => Custom
  • Host Name => (fill in)

Diversion, uiDivStats

  • Use amtm to install Diversion.
  • Use custom hosted allowlist.
  • Use amtm to install uiDivStats.
