ICMP Plugin question

Hello - just a quick question about the ICMP Status Check Plugin:

Does the default value "Use .* to include all IPs" mean, that every IP in the subnet will be scanned, or just the known online/offline devices from the list?

In my case, the ICMP plugin runs, as recommended, alongside the other device scanners every 5 minutes, but when it´s activated, it looks like the ICMP task is running forever. I don´t think it´s bug, just the icmp protocol by design, as answers from offline devices takes more time than from reachable devices.

Does it scan IP for IP, like for example a 192.168.1.0/24 Network, it goes in sequence:

192.168.1.1
192.168.1.2
192.168.1.3
..
192.168.1.254

For me, i think I will use it only on selected IPs, as there are some devices (Switches) on my network, that won´t be recognized through the ARP scan, otherwise it simply takes to much time.
Maybe that´s a hint for the description better not to scan a whole subnet?

ICMP pings all available devices in the DB.

It doesn't limit the subnet, here's the code:

    # Retrieve devices
    all_devices = device_handler.getAll()

    # Compile the regex for efficiency if it will be used multiple times
    regex_pattern = re.compile(in_regex)

    # Filter devices based on the regex match
    filtered_devices = [

I see. How do I define an IP Range, would it be

or
