While porting back to Java will probably reduce the size of release artifacts significantly, and all the images together are less than 9% of the JAR's size, and many of the images are 4 KB or smaller ... Unless adding the dependency increases the size more than we save, consider adding a TwelveMonkeys ImageIO plugin and converting the heaviest images to WebP.
