Escape from Model Land

Just finished Escape from Model Land by Erica Thompson . This is a great popular book for the general audience on modeling science, what models are and what you can expect from them. It is also a must-read for professional modelers since it communicate in an effective way complicated concept.
I also like the emphasis on bringing in more diversity of viewpoints into the modeling process, which is why we have to make models FAIR! Given the declining trust in institutions, like the use of models, it is important to increase model literacy. The Covid pandemic and climate change, demonstrated how little people understand why we use models, that everybody can model, but that we put big barriers in understanding computational models and their outcomes.
