Example mrkdwn (slack markdown):

Event name: <!date^1588744800^{date_short_pretty} from {time}|May 5th, 2020 from 4:00 PM> to <!date^1588750200^{time}|5:30 PM GMT+1000>

HTML we got:

Event name: <span class="slack-cmd">date^1588744800^{date_short_pretty} from {time}</span> to <span class="slack-cmd">date^1588750200^{time}</span>

Text I would expect to actually see:

Event name: May 5th, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM GMT+1000

(i.e. use the provided alt text)
