Pear channel-discover problem when installing

When trying to test install Midgard following instructions from:
http://midgard-project.org/midgardmvc/#source

running command on my dreamhost:

pear channel-discover pear.indeyets.pp.ru
Returns:
Error: No version number found in tag
Discovering channel pear.indeyets.pp.ru over http:// failed with message: channel-add: invalid channel.xml file
Trying to discover channel pear.indeyets.pp.ru over https:// instead
Discovery of channel "pear.indeyets.pp.ru" failed (channel-add: Cannot open "https://pear.indeyets.pp.ru/channel.xml" (Connection to `pear.indeyets.pp.ru:443' failed: Connection refused))

should be pear.indeyets.ru. domain was changed years ago.

anyway, pear is long abandoned and recent packages should be installed via composer
