Bug Description

The currently used Azure SDK is deprecated and will be no longer be supported after March 2023.

Expected behavior

We should consider migrating to another SDK that will receive updates beyond March 2023. In particular Azure is developing a comprehensive SDK: https://github.com/Azure/azure-sdk-for-go/
