How to create archive for custom metadata?

I have created some custom metadata for my site. This data is the names of individuals mentioned in each of my posts. I would like to create an archive page for mentions of these people. I'm imagining this to look/act similarly to the tag archive. I could create this myself, but I suspect this can be done automagically with the tools that are part of the theme.

Is this possible?
