[QUESTION] Is this project abandoned? #1272
Comments
It's very clearly dead. It's too bad. There's even some decent PRs. It legitimately doesn't even open or load on my phone any more. I have to clear the local storage and lock back in to access any of it. |
Thanks! That's annoying, but I guess to be expected. Guess I'll find a different alternative. |
Sadly we should really be looking at alternatives. The reality is Mozilla as a company is dead. The company was bankrupted with the mindless pursuit of other projects instead of prioritizing their flagship product and it seems they've learned nothing and are still doing it with this vpn thing. When they announce their closure in the near future no one should be surprised. We can only hope open source community can keep Firefox afloat somehow. |
I think there is something wrong with Mozilla, they need to replace CEO Mitchell Baker, She will only destroy Mozilla! Due to poor management, Mozilla has laid off a quarter of its employees last year .Several Mozilla projects are affected! Mitchell Baker earns about 2.5 million US dollars a year, and Mozilla has to lay off 250 employees. For a non-profit organization, Such remuneration is not normal. The development of firefox is restricted by the mozilla foundation .After Mozilla layoffs, the core staff of the rust team basically went to AWS.Firefox users continue to lose.Because Mozilla is not running well! |
Are we allowed to fork this, so the community can be free to merge PR, fix bugs and create releases ? |
Your Lockwise passwords are moving in with Firefox. https://links.email.mozilla.org/servlet/MailView?ms=MjM1Nzk2MAS2&r=MjczNDQ4MjgzNDgS1 |
Not cool. From the sound of it, Lockwise goes from an app-agnostic service to a Firefox-only feature. At the very least, this means I have to install Firefox to get Lockwise functionality, even though I use Firefox Focus as my browser on mobile. This is a step in the wrong direction. Mozilla has indeed being losing focus by launching non-core products, but a standalone trusted password manager from a still-kinda-trusted-company was something to bring to desktop, not something to take away from mobile. Forcing users is not the way to gain adoption. |
The support page is not clear but it seems Firefox on Android will implement the autofill service instead of lockwise according AndroidPolice. |
Very disappointed in Mozilla regarding the abandonment of lockwise. :( |
No contributions since 2020-Dec.
Sure seems like this project is abandoned.
Can anyone confirm/deny?
