Since schema version 228, pipes, weirs and orifices have a geometry of their own. These geometries should be used in threedigrid-builder. I presume that currently, a geometry is generated internally by drawing a straight line from start connection node to end connection node. These geometries are used to:

  • Calculate the length of the flowline
  • Generate intermediate calculation points on pipes (in case the calculation point distance < length)
  • Generate 1D2D connections between these calculation points and the 2D domain (in case the pipe has a 'connected' exchange type)
