When the solver fails, it do so with non-minimal failure messages, leading to hard times figuring out what exactly causes the failure. I've encountered that issue several times when using the opam-monorepo. This is linked to tarides/opam-monorepo#154. I'm not sure what can be done here, but I'm making a PR with a minimalish test to reproduce the issue: #26
I'm not sure if it's a 0install-solver problem or an opam-0install-solver so I'm opening the issue here but feel free to close and move it if it's not adequate.
