Expected behavior

Actual behavior

  • Raw GUID are displayed for not default Topics in the team-membership CSV file

Steps to reproduce

  • Configure teams.enable_teams_app waffle flag / switch to access “Teams” settings on the Pages&Resources page in studio.
  • Configure custom topics with Public managed or Private managed types.
  • As a staff user, open Teams course tab
  • Open Manage tab and download Current Team Memberships

Thanks for the report! I do think this is how it has always behaved. I can replicate the report in Redwood and Quince, and I'm 99% sure it happens in previous releases as well (don't quote me on this). I couldn't find in the docs where explicitly says they must be meaningful strings, but that's what the examples show.

@crathbun428 @jmakowski1123: do you know whether this the correct behavior for the CSV team-set column? Using the team-set ID instead of the team-set name?

I think for backwards compatibility, if the team-set name was added in addition to team-set ID that might be preferred?

+1 to sarina's note this will help the usability of the team membership file.

[aside] the current state of Teams makes me sad since it could be a big selling point to be able to support group / team learning more fully.
