Epic

#134: Improving OSPR Management

Story

"As a PR author, I want a simpler OSPR welcome message so that I can more easily identify key information (such as who maintains the parent repo of my PR)."

Full description

Implements this part of the proposal for Improving OSPR Management from this year's Summit to Enhance the Core Contributor Experience.

As discussed recently on the Open edX forum, the repetitive value of the long OSPR welcome message is quite low, especially if someone is already familiar with the OSPR process. What's more, important information about who maintains the parent repository is buried at the end of the message.

By collapsing individual sections of the message it should be possible to simplify it quite a bit, and key information could be highlighted better by putting it at the front of the message. <example>

Completion criteria

  • Simplify the OSPR welcome message based on info and example from the description above.
  • Create a PR and ping Feanil for review. (He will take care of testing and deploying the changes once they merge.)
