Apple Configurator #35
Comments
did you figure it out? |
When Apple upgraded the iPhone Configuration Utility I luckily had a Mac Mini with the old OS version so I continued using it. A couple of times I had to modify the .mobileconfig file so I just opened using Notepad++. If you're not going to use something complex that's not documented it's possible to manually edit it. |
Thank you! Anyway you could share what parts of the mobileconfig you had to edit? |
This is something that absolutely depends on your needs. The mobileconfig is a Payload, a simple document of key/string nodes where the key node is the key itself (the name) and the value the content for that key. You need to read the specifications but I give you a small sample of the beginning of one of my files: PayloadContent AccessRights 8191 CheckInURL https://myserver:8080/checkin CheckOutWhenRemoved IdentityCertificateUUID XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXV PayloadDescription Configures Mobile Device Management PayloadDisplayName Mobile Device Management ....It´s a very simple file but it's much easier just finding an old version of the software. |
ah. great! Thanks again. |
Step 10 of the Setup is creating Enroll.mobileconfig using iPhone Configuration Utility, but since it is outdated Apple says to use Apple Configurator.
Most of the settings like Checkin URL, Identity, Check messages etc are unavailable. Is there another way to create the mobileconfig? When I download the mobileconfig on my phone (iOS9) nothing happens. It goes through the installation but nothing appears in the server logs. This is all that appears in the phone logs:
Any thoughts?
