Snapshots at https://github.com/r-multiverse/production currently run on a fixed schedule. We may decide to allow ad hoc snapshots to correct major problems. In case we do, I think we should proactively track the date of each snapshot and the version of R-release at the time. https://github.com/r-multiverse/production/blob/main/.github/workflows/snapshot.yml could simply append this information to a text file that lives somewhere in https://github.com/r-multiverse/production. Regardless of our snapshot policy, this metadata would help us maintain https://github.com/r-multiverse/r-multiverse.github.io.
