Hello roadmap.sh team,

I'd like to suggest adding a WordPress Beginner to Advanced roadmap to the platform. WordPress is one of the most widely used content management systems (CMS), and there is a large community of users and developers at various skill levels who could benefit from a structured learning path. This roadmap could guide beginners through the basics and help them progress toward advanced development topics.

Proposed Roadmap Structure:

Beginner:

  • Introduction to WordPress (what it is, how it works)
  • Setting up a local development environment
  • Basic WordPress functionality: dashboard, themes, plugins
  • Content creation: posts, pages, categories, tags
  • Using the block editor (Gutenberg)

Intermediate:

  • Customizing themes with child themes
  • Creating custom post types and taxonomies
  • WordPress template hierarchy
  • WordPress hooks: actions and filters
  • Understanding the WordPress loop

Advanced:

  • Developing custom plugins
  • Using the WordPress REST API
  • WP-CLI for development automation
  • WordPress security best practices
  • Performance optimization (caching, lazy loading)

I believe this roadmap could benefit a large number of developers looking to learn WordPress comprehensively, from setting up their first website to mastering plugin and theme development.

Thank you for considering this suggestion!
