First off, thank you for creating this tool – it’s been incredibly useful.
As someone new to Google Takeout, I initially assumed that each part of the photos dump (e.g., Takeout 001, 002, etc.) was self-contained, meaning images and their sidecars would be together in each part. To conserve drive space, I extracted and imported each part sequentially (001, then 002, and so on).
This got me thinking: should immich-go operate under the assumption that users might not be familiar with how Takeout splits data? Would it make sense to guide users toward extracting all parts into the same location before starting the import?
Curious to hear others’ thoughts on this.
