What steps will reproduce the problem?

Update available prompt showed up on launch, has happened 3 times and once I submit this form it will stop responding. I select update now and the issue reporter opens

Thanks for reporting. You need to manually update Spyder to fix this problem.

To do that, please close Spyder, open the Anaconda Prompt (on Windows) or a terminal (on macOS or Linux) and run there

conda install spyder=6
