I have tried to have one instance of Stochas drives, let's say 3 virtual separate instruments, in Live or load Kontakt with various instruments, each with its own receiving MIDI channel without success. Tried in Digital Performer without success too. I tried the Stochas plugin version or stand alone outputting via IAC driver. It is not responding as a multi channel instrument. Is there something special to check since the MIDI out options are set on a general patch level for all layers. My layers are correctly assigned to various MIDI output channel. Anyone is able to send the layers to separate virtual instruments in a DAW ?

Reaper is known good, so might be a good idea to try in Reaper. Just create a separate track for each virtual instrument and send from the Stochas track to each one for the midi channel you want. Check the faq on stochas.org for ableton tips. Ableton is known to be a bit fiddly due to its lack of midi flexibility. We don't run into Digital Performer much.
