there is currently no other plan to support tags..

Both linux support xattr (extended attributes) which is a nice place to store and get tags..

we can use user.xdg.tags for tagging, which is already seems to be a standard for various apps..

And since you are already working on this, you may find a solution to sort files by tags as well? Given array with priorities of tags?

if it were javascript, python or java.. i could have def completed in an hour, but for me its a little hard to learn lua (again) and as i am already juggling between a full time SE job, 2 startups, and collage, completing this is really low on my priority list, but i will try to do ASAP, but it might take some time...

In the mean time if somone else who are good at lua and knows yazi plugin apis, wanted to, don't need to wait for me...

but when i do it, i will try to add option to sort files by tags

I can absolutely understand you. I also got a few jobs and care for my family. I could just try to hack something together with CodeCoPilot since I am an mechanical engineer which is passionately interested in code but not very effective ^^

XD i already tried and failed miserably... chatgpt doesn't understand yazi at all.....
